This is a gear driven – VDI 30 Live tool holder – This could be adapted to other uses by either a gear to drive it or by replacing the gear with the a pulley and driving it with an external motor in a gang tooling situation. It is important to appreciate that live tools are complete spindles. This provides an ER16 collet interface to a shaft/gear output. It is well made. The gearing inside to tool is such that the output rotates about 420 degrees in response to a full rotation of the drive gear. So a minor speed up. The width of the tool is 62mm. The centerline of the collet is in line with the centerline of the vdi shaft. We have several of these. 30 day return for DOA.
